This guide was created to help people that want to move from WordPress to Blogger.

Background to Making the Guide

Recently, I needed to take some pressure on using WordPress for some sites after finding it too difficult to manage many websites I had built up in my network over the years. It eventually reached boiling point and I had to do something dramatic as I had over 40 websites I was trying to develop and run but I had too many other things going on in my life as well to manage them. I decided I would downscale even more than I had (down from over 100 domains at one stage) offload some blogs onto blogger accounts.

Using a Custom Domain Name with Blogger

I would also use the option to use my own domain name with Blogger. I also have redirected some domains to similar domains so I could manage less websites and merge some of them. My long term goal though would be to have each domain running as it's own business and making a good income. So using blogger would really be a temporary thing long term unless BlogSpot/Blogger changed drastically and became a lot more robust with much better control.

Blogger Support

Blogger is still pretty good as it is now, it's just the small things that are missing. You will find them the more you work on Blogger. The support is not that great, the discussion groups are active and enthusiastic but not many seem to have skilled or advanced knowledge from my experience.

Managing a Large Website Network

I'm still currently running my website network but I have found I was much better off letting go of some of the domains and had a number of my sites now on blogger. I'm now able to concentrate on around 10 sites at the moment and it's much easier.

The aim of this guide will be to run you through the process I had refined over weeks of moving over 10 WordPress sites to blogger.
